Tibetan studies

Exceptionally strong in its survey of resources for historical research, this collection also provides general bibliographies for the field of Tibetan Studies and related disciplines, as well as useful tools, dictionaries, blogs, etc.

Chinese studies

The East Asian Library began with a special collection of rare materials acquired from China in the 1930's, now referred to as the Mu Collection.

The collection has continued to grow with subsequent additions of Japanese, Korean and Tibetan materials.

The Korean section houses a wide range of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources related to Korean Studies.

In addition, the Korean team selects, organizes, and makes the collection available to users to promote Korea, and to function as a stepping-stone between Korea and not only Canada, but also the entire world.

Japanese Studies

Brill's Japanese Studies Library is concerned with the languages, history and culture of Japan in past and present.

Among the subjects included are history—political, social, economic based on primary sources, including biography; religion;

Queer Asian Diasporas (Panel with Q&A) - June 15, 2017

In celebration of LGBT Pride Month, the East Asian Library is proud to host a panel of talented speakers as they discuss the place of race/ethnicity, gender, and migration in contemporary debates concerning sexual citizenship and national belonging in Canada and beyond.
